Fancy speaking at the 2019 Conference?

Have an idea, but still not sure?

Come on, what do you have to lose?

Now is the time to turn that idea into a reality – or at least an idea for a presentation – you’ve got LOTS of time to actually turn it into the real deal.

This year you can submit your proposal right from the website, at:

We are extending the cut off time to submit your proposals – due to a glitch in the site, stopping people from doing so over this past week. So you now all have until 8 October to make us an offer we can’t refuse.

As this marks the 50 year anniversary of BIALL, our theme is “50 not out: past, present, future”.   We are seeking presentations that explore innovation, best practices and empowerment, celebrating our achievements and speculating on the future.  We’re interested in presentations covering topics such as:

•             Digital shift, and how technologies are revolutionising services
•             Engagement with our users
•             Looking back, how has our profession evolved, and what lessons were learned?
•             Insight into the challenges ahead for those working in the information profession

But don’t feel limited by these topics, if you have another idea that fits with “past, present, future” theme we’d like to hear it too.

If you have got an idea but are not sure how to develop it, what kind of session might work, or even whether it’s a good topic for the conference then please email Susan and she’ll be happy to help you.

Also remember that in addition to the plenary and parallel sessions, we are again including the 10 minute lightning talks which are a great way for inexperienced speakers to get involved, or for topics that are just  shorter and snappier .

The deadline for submitting a proposal is 8 October 2018.
